250º F HOT MELT ADHESIVE ( SAFE+LOK ) Hot melt adhesive with a lower temperature, offers versatility that will continue to meet the various needs in the packaging marketplace. SAFE+LOK allows you to operate your units, hoses and nozzles at 250°F, instead of 350°F, with the following benefits: Improve safety Reduce maintenance costs Char free hot melt Low odor Longer equipment life Optimal bead width SAFETY Hot-melt requires careful handling at any temperature. By lowering your hot melt temperature form 350ºF to 250ºF, the risk of severe burn injuries are greatly reduced. It is recommended that the same operating and maintenanceprecautions followed for higher temperature adhesives still apply. A typical hot melt adhesive application system includes several components that can generate adhesive gel and char. Char builds up in hot melt tanks and hoses and clogs nozzles, that can lead to:

CONSUMPTION
By decreasing the size of your bead width and keeping it consistent, you can save on your hot melt consumption. With a 350ºF hot melt you encounter changes in viscosity and char in nozzles, which makes it difficult to adjust the bead width. However, the viscosity of 250ºF SAFE+LOK is more consistent than higher temperature hot melts and at this temperature, you will not encounter char build up.
